This Christmas I was lucky enough to recieve a great book. The title of this facinating book is Wonder Struck. It is the second book following The Invention of Hugo Cabret. Although I am not that far into Wonder Struck I Know that it will be great. I Know this because already I am completely bewilderd by the quality and the power of the words and the greatnes of the story.
I did not get a book for the holidays so I need ideas for what I should read.
This has nothing to do with the blog but I won the fantasy drawing at the library and won like a thousand books!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!YAY
For Christmas, I didn't recieve a book, but I decided to read The Postcard by Tony Abbot. It's about a kid named Jason who lives in Boston. At the begginning of the book, his grandmother dies, so he flies out to Florida with his dad. He attends a funeral and a burial for his grandmother. After that, he starts learning all the secrets of her life. For starters, his dad doesn't know who his father is. Also, Jason learns that his grandmother has been in a wheelchair since a car accident when she was a teen. Next, Jason gets a creepy call and finds a very odd magizine story which only has the first chapter. With Dia, the girl next door, and an old postcard, he sets off to unravel the secrets of his grandmother's life. He finds out about her father, who was very rich, her boyfriends, and her life before her tragedy. The whole time, he seems to be followed by a man in a black suit. It is all very curious...

I did not really get a book for Christmas, but I did start a new book on vacation! The book I got is called Fablehaven . This is a GREAT book because it starts off as a normal vacation at Seth and Kendra's grandparents house, but it changes into a completely different story filled with new adventures. You should read Fablehaven because it is an upbeat story that leaves you on edge and leaves you wondering what will happen next! This book was so good that it lead me to read the second book, Fablehaven and the Rise of the Evening Star! I would definitely recommend this book!
The book i'm reading( that i got on my new kindle) is sisters grimm problem child book three. it is an amazing narritive of the life of the grimm sisters. in this book Sabrina (the older sister) finds out who her parents captor was. it has been nearly two years since they dissapeared leaving only a scarlet hand as a clue. The mentally deranged little red riding hood had snatched away Sabrina's parents and is now coming for her grandmother. with the help of a lost relitive and the blue fairy they rebuild the voporal blade and take on red's "kitty" i can't say much more without giving the book away but you should check out the series. they are almost as good as the hunger games. BTW summer- cool i heard alot about that book seems good, nice suggestion.

I got two books for Christmas, but they were both so good that I decided to blog about both of them.
The first book I got is called Inheritance. It is the fourth and final book in the series Eragon. Eragon is just a young boy living in The Spine, which is a huge mountain range, until one day he is out hunting and he finds a glittering blue stone. He likes it, and decides to take it home. After a couple of days, the stone starts to crack. This perplexes him, because who ever heard of a rock cracking. Later that day the egg breaks open all together, and out hops a baby dragon. Eragon then becomes a dragon rider. Becoming a rider introduces him into the world of magic, and his journeys take him across his home country, Alagaesia. This is a very exciting and suspense filled fantasy book and I would recommend it to any bookworm (mostly to people who read alot, because the last book alone is over 800 pages)!!
The other book that I got is called The Alchemyst. This is all about a pair of twins named Josh and Sophie. Their parents are full time archaeologists who travel across the country on loan to whatever college wants some archaeologists. Josh and Sophie follow them in their travels, getting jobs whenever possible. This time, however their jobs end up changing their lives forever. They are introduced to the world of magic and gods. It is really a combination of lots of different ancient cultures, such as the Greeks, Romans, Egyptians, and many others. This is a must read for any fantasy book lover.
The book I got is wonder struck by Brian Selznic. This book is by the same author of the great book The Invention of Hugo Cabret. This is an outstanding book because it is told in words and in pictures. At the beginning there is two different story's; one in words the other in pictures in two completely different time periods but close to the end they connect in a way that you would never expect. With a surprise at every page and beautiful sketches telling a complete story this is the prefect story if you need a taste of adventure and action. I would highly recommend this book!
I didn't get any books for Christmas, but I have lately been reading some really good books. One of them is called Distant Waves by Suzanne Weyn. It is a novel about the Titanic and growing up in the early 1900s. The main character is a girl named Mary Adelaide Tredwell. In the beginning of the book, she is four years old and moving to a place named Spirit Vale, New York with her three sisters, Mimi, Emma and Amelie. This place is famed for its ghosts and supernatural activity, but Mary soon learns this all is a hoax.She spends her childhood playing pranks on unsuspecting tourists.
When she is 16, by a freak coincidence, she and all of her sisters end up sailing aboard the Titanic for its maiden voyage in 1912. The night of the sinking brings sadness, hope, and fear to Mary as she realizes that time may not be as definite as she thought.
This is a great book and I really hope you read it.

I agree with Allstar 20 and The Great White that Wonder Struck will be a great book because The Invention of Hugo Cabret was amazing and I hope Wonder Struck will be as good, if not better.

James Blonde- I have read Eragon (the first book). It was an amazing book, and I have the rest of the series, but haven't read them. After I finish the series I am reading right now I will finish the Inheritance cycle. Oh yeah, I am a BIG reader.
I'm currently reading Catching Fire. It is a very good book. It's the year of the 75th annual hunger games; the Quarter Quall. Every 25 , a Quarter Quall, there is a twist to the hunger games. So that i don't give anything away, I'll just say that Katniss and Peeta will have a very hard time mentoring. meanwhile, after Katniss has given her speeches and tried to avoid killing Peeta in her hunger games with the berries, she is catching on that uprisings have begun. This leaves the capitol trying to kill Katniss, without really doing it. This states the question, is the 3rd Quarter Quall rigged?

I received two books for Christmas. They were, Molly Moon and the Morphing Mystery and Catching Jordan.
Have any of you read the Molly Moon series? I know Renee has, and I loved the series. If you get the chance, you should read them. Molly Moon and the Morphing Mystery is about Molly, who not only can hypnotize, stop time, time travel, and mind read, but she also learns how to morph. In this book Molly is living with Ojas, Rocky, Primo, Lucy, Micky, Forest, Petula, and an elephant (I forgot its name).
Primo and Lucy hire a tutor. She is a friendly woman named Ms. Hunroe, that apparently smells good(according to Forest). One of her many teaching ideas is to take the children to a museum in London. Lucy and Primo love the idea. Strangely, the next morning everybody, but Molly, Micky, and Ms. Hunroe have caught a "cold." Only Petula realizes that they have all been hypnotized by the new lady that smells like roses and suspiciously like thorns.
Anyways, when they get to the museum the new tutor leads the kids up a long flight of stairs. When they get to the room at the top Ms. Hunroe locks the door behind them. It turns out that Ms. Hunroe is working as the leader of an organization of women that want to put their hypnotizing skills to use. They're trying to recover Dr. Logan's 2nd book on mind-reading, morphing, and weather controlling.
The twins then embark on a game of chase throughout London to find Theobald Black who is currently in possession of the priceless book. While using their new morphing skills, the twins learn many things about Theobald Black and Ms. Hunroe's group of women.
Since I explained the first book so thoroughly i'll give you a slightly shorter summary about Catching Jordan.
Catching Jordan is about a high school senior that loves playing football, and just happens to be the best player in Tennessee. The only problem? Jordan is a girl.
I loved both of these intriguing books and I advise all of you to read them.

Isn't The Alchemyst the first book of the Nicholas Flamel series? If so, I've heard that the series is really good. Based on your description of the first book, those rumors are true. I am an extreme lover of Fantasy, so I think I'll read that book.
I forgot to mention that Catching Jordan might not appeal to the boys very much.
I surprisingly didn't get any books this Christmas but i went to the academy for book worms (the library) and started reading the Pendragon series. The most recent one I read is book 7: The Rivers Of Zadaa. In it, there is an average 15 year old guy and warrior girl. Only one thing binds this unlikely team together, there need to stop this creeper names Saint Dane. I would recomend this book because it is full of suspence, a small amount of violice and a ton of mystery.
This year for Christmas, I recieved Catching Fire, in the Hunger Games series. I started it right away, and now I am almost finished. It is an awesome extention of the first hunger games book, and I cannot put it down. I rate it a 10 out of 10! :)

That book The Postcard sounds a lot like a book series that I have read called The 39 Clues. The Postcard sounds like a very good book that would be very suspenseful to read.
I got Cathcing Fire and Mockingjay for Christmas. I have read both of them and they are Amazing! In both of the books, youe xpect something to happen and it takes a sharp turn to something unexpected. They we page turners and I could read them several times. So if you want to read what happens to Peeta and Katniss, I would suggest these books.

One of the bools i read over christmas break is The Necromancer. It is the fourth book in the series, The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel. It is abouyt a pair of ttwins that have a pure silver and gold auras. There is a profecy about them saying, the tow that is one and the one that is all. It is also said that they can either save or destroy the world. It is a book of intense action all through out and drama in little parts.

For the christmas of 2011 i recieved a book titled "The Son of Neptune" I am not very far into this book, but right from the start in grabbed me and pulled me in. It is a intense and anction packed book that I can't put down.

a great book to read is Warriors #1 i got it for Christmas in a way it is about four clans of cats battling it out for hunting terriotory until one leader breaks the warrior code of conduct and their whole system.

Have read Dragon Rider and The Princess Diaries. I have been reading "The Dawn Treader" in the Chronicles of Narnia. I finished it on Sunday. I didn't realize I was reading it when i bloged the first time. Anyways, The Dawn Treader is a great book and it is about two of the four Kings and Queens of Narnia setting out on a voyage to find the seven lost kings. They think that their world is flat. ( I think it is.) This book is a good read and full of new things and it is totally full of adventure!!

An amazibg booki got for Christmas is Warrior Women! I got this book frommy grandpa, my grandpa and i both love history and sci-fi, so my grandpa got me this incredible book about these women who did things like lead their men into battle or set the record for something a man should of done. this book has true hard facts that you wouldn't believe are true. like this one Chinese warrior,was the first women privateer and had a fleet of over a thousand! i think you could learn a lot fromthis book and enjoy the amazing tales of these women's life, go girls! :) :) :)

In this book there is a guy with 436 piercings on his body and another guy with 127% of his body covered in tatoos and there is a piantball with a diameter of 4 feet and these acrobats ONE RODE A BIKE WHILE THE OTHER WAS ON HIS SHOULDERS and the biker biked across a tight rope at 116 ft in the air.
Over Christmas one book I got was Pie. Pie is about a girl named Alice, who's aunt was famous for her world renound pies. When she dies she leaves her secret pie recipe to her cat, Lardo, and the cat to Alice. When someone breaks into her aunt pie shop Alice and her friend Charlie set out on a quest to find the intruder. Along the way they learn some disturbing facts along with some mislead indentities. If you like Pie, peole, puposturous stories, or any type of description word with a p you will like this book. Happy reading!!!

Tengo dos libros para Navidad, pero ambos estaban tan bueno que decidí blog acerca de ambos.
El primer libro que conseguí se denomina herencia. Es el cuarto y último libro de la saga Eragon. Eragon es sólo un joven viven en la columna vertebral, que es una enorme cordillera, hasta que un día él está cazando y encuentra una piedra azul brillante. Le gusta y decide llevarla a casa. Después de un par de días, la piedra comienza a agrietarse. Esto perplexes él, ya que nunca escuchó de un resquebrajamiento de la roca. Más tarde ese mismo día los saltos de huevo abrir todos juntos y a saltos un dragón bebé. Eragon se convierte entonces en un jinete de dragón. Convertirse en un jinete le introduce en el mundo de la magia, y llevaron a sus viajes a través de su país de origen, Alagaesia. Esto es un muy emocionante y lleno de suspense libro de fantasía y recomendaría a cualquier bookworm (en su mayoría a personas que leen mucho, porque el último libro solo es más de 800 páginas)!!
El otro libro que tengo se llama el alquimista. Se trata de una pareja de gemelos llamado Josh y Sophie. Sus padres son arqueólogos de tiempo completo que viajan por todo el país en calidad de préstamo a cualquier colegio quiere a algunos arqueólogos. Josh y Sophie seguirlos en sus viajes, conseguir empleo, siempre que sea posible. Esta vez, sin embargo sus trabajos terminan cambiando sus vidas para siempre. Se introdujeron al mundo de la magia y los dioses. Realmente es una combinación de lotes de diferentes culturas antiguas, como los griegos, romanos, egipcios y muchos otros. Esto es imprescindible para cualquier amante del libro de fantasía.

A great book I have read over Christmas Break is called te Million Dollar Throw. The main character is named Josh altough most of his teammates call him Brady because of his huge arm and his position at Quarter back. Josh also loves the New England Patriots because he lives near New England. For his whole life Josh has been saving up for a football singed by Tom Brady. He Finally has enough money to buy the ball and then learns at the store that he has a chance to make a throw for a million dollars at a New England football game. This book is exciting and is a page turner. I suggest this for everybody.

Hey Everyone!!Has anyone read the Percy Jackson series? I am reading a book called, "The Son of Neptune". These books have the same main character, Percy. I think it is one of the best books I have ever read. If you like action, adventure, and thousands of cliff-hangers, this book is for you.
In this book, Percy and Jason are both demigods. The differience? Precy is Greek, Jason is Roman. They trade places in their camps mysterously, by a god named Gea. They have a quest- to join the two enemy camps together, fight with the gods against the cyclops, and save the world.
This is a really good book, and I recomend it to everyone!

He leído Dragon Rider y The Princess Diaries. He estado leyendo "El Viajero del Alba", en las Crónicas de Narnia. Lo terminó el domingo. No me di cuenta que estaba leyendo cuando me escribió en su blog la primera vez. De todas formas, El Viajero del Alba es un gran libro y se trata de dos de los cuatro reyes y reinas de Narnia se establecen en un viaje para encontrar a los siete reyes perdidos. Ellos piensan que su mundo es plano. (Creo que es.) Este libro es una buena lectura y lleno de cosas nuevas y está totalmente lleno de aventura!

When You Reach Me

I didn't get this book for christmas, but it's for my book club. This book really makes you think about the world in perspective. It also makes you think about the immpossible-time travel. when you reach me makes people think of life in perspective, and why people do things. I literally could not put down (and it wasn't because the book was glued to my hand, it wasn't). I reccomend this book for boys and girls alike, if you can understand the concepts of time. This book will touch hearts of kids many years from now, and long after that. Good job Rebecca.

Those of you that are reading The Son of Neptune, be warned. Read slowly. The cliff hanger at the end is terribly suspensful.
The next book i would like to read is the Alchemyst becuase it sounds like a really good book that will keep me reading. I like fantasy and books with gods. I am looking forward to reading this.

Book: Crunch
Over break I read an amazing book called Crunch. In the book Crunch, Dewey and his four other siblings stuck at home without their parents because of a gas shortage. In this book Dewey and his brother younger brother Vince have the troubling job of running their family’s local business, a Bike Barn. Usually business at the bike barn is slow and manageable but with no gas people are forced to use bikes. With the new burst in bike use the Bike Barn is completely unmanageable. On top of the stress of running the bike barn, the two youngest siblings’ bikes have gotten stolen and many robberies are occurring all over town. How long will it take for the parents to get back? Will they finish all the bike jobs? Will the stolen bikes be found? I can’t tell you anymore so read this amazing book to find the answer to these questions.

I think the book Molly Moon sounds amazing. I loved how you described the book to the point that I had a huge desire to read the book and find out what happends. Also I really want to read it because I am a huge fan of mind reading and stuff like that.

I love the Eragon series though I only made it halfway through the third book. But even more than the Eragon series, I LOVE The Alchemyst. The plot is interesting, yet somehow believable, which makes for a better story. I think that the book goes into enough detail to make you feel like you could be Sophie or Josh, or just a passerby watching all of the action. The point is that Michael Scott is such a good writer that you can feel like you are inside the story. Have you read the second book yet? It only gets better as you go on.

I think that Molly Moon and the Morphing Mystery sounds great. I I like books like the one that you described, they keep me on the edge of my seat. I also think that Catching Jordan sounds interesting, even though you did not go into much detail. Overall, I think that we have a similar taste in books. I also want to read those books.
