Katniss is very resourceful, she learned all about wilderness and how to hunt with her father which she relied on to get food in the games. From watching her mother help people for so long, she knew a little on how to save Peeta when he was burned, stung and cut.
Katniss is also brave because when Peeta was injured, she didn't run away in digust, she gritted her teeth and stayed with him and tried to help him. She is also brave because she went straight into the war zone at the Cornucopia to get Peeta's medicine
I thing Katniss is very resourceful, kind, and intelligent. Katniss is resourceful because before the Hunger Games Katniss hunted helping her gather knowledge and plants and berries you can and can't eat. Another helpful thing for Katniss was having a mom that worked at an apothecary because then katniss knew how to bandage Peeta. Katniss is intelligent because she knows all the plants or berries you can eat and because she always makes the right decisions like not leaving Peeta. She is also intelligent because in the book Katniss says " It's not safe to stay in the open," which lets you know she is very smart. I also think Katniss is considerate because she is fast, good looking, got a very astonishing score in training, and she is good at most things she does. One thing I agree with is that Katniss is brave. She volunteers for her sister and risks herself for Peeta's Life. Katniss is a very kind, intelligent, and considerate girl. This was a very good book and was very exciting.
I absolutely think that Katniss is resorsful. One example is when her hearing got blown out in the explostion. All of her life, she depended on her hearing. When she was back in the Seam, hunting in the forbidden woods, and also when she was in the arena, listening closely to who was nearby. All of that changed when all hearing left her left ear, and she had to rely on other senses like smell, touch, and sight. I think you would have to be extremely resorsful to just not hear at all, and then learn and prime(definition two) yourself to use other tools. she is also resorsful because she seemed to know all of the good berries to eat, and all of the poison one that could kill you. you could not just guess when it comes to eating wild berries. another example is when she had to clean out Peeta's wound. She hadn't ever done it herself, but she remembered her mother and Prim do it before, so she just went with her instincs and memory, and ended up saving Peeta's life.
I LOVED Michelle The Sniper's comment because it gave vivid details about the book, and even had a smidge of diolouge. Couln't have said it better!
I thought Owl Eyes sharing was good because it all related to the book and it was all true. I liked how He/she (forgot who owl eyes is) Explained each topic well but don't know why she did it in 2 short pieces or why she didn't do nine sentences.
Is Alstar Theo or Alta?
I very much agree with the statement. She can run very fast and can be agile. When there was the table with every thing the people needed; Katniss ran out and grabbed it before anyone could try to stop her.
She also is very kind. When Peeta was dying she would not stop until he was better. She is brave and resourceful at the same time. When she needed to get food fore the family she faced her fears and when into the woods to gather and hunt food for her family. Gale even said "your the best hunter I know." She is very loyal to all her friends and family and is always trying to help out.
Responding to Michelle the Sniper:
I thought the Michelle the Sniper's was very good. He used good details about what she does. He also uses great verbs to describe Katniss. He really told us what she does well.
Finally Katniss is quick witted. She can get out of tough situations easily like when she was planning on destroying the careers food, she instantly knew it obviously was a trap because it was too in the open and she carefully watched Foxface get food from it. she knew there were mines underneath and strageticaly blew up their food by only losing 3 arrows.
Alstar is Alta Michelle The Sniper
Katniss demonstrates that she is brave when she dropped the tracker jacker wasps on the pack. She knew the venom might have killed her but she did it anyway. Katniss proves that she is resorceful when there was a shortage of food. She divides the food and only eats a little amount each day. you know that Katniss is intelligent when she out rules the thought of making a fire. She knows that if she makes a fire that the other tributes will hunt her down. When Katniss accepted Rue in her alliance you knew she wase kind. I believe all of these statments about her are true.
Michelle The Sniper your respons is very discriptive.
Katniss is all of these things, but especially brave, resourcful, and kind. She is kind and brave beacause on Reaping Day, when Prim's name was called, she stood up to them and volunteered. You have to love someone VERY much to do this. Especially when you are going to the Hunger Games. She is also braave because when Petta was almost dying she stayed with him all the time, even though she knew it would risk her life. Then, Katniss is resorceful because before her father died, he taught her all about hunting and gathering. This made her a good resorce for Rue and Peeta.
I agree with Michelle The Sniper because they used a lot good detail from the book. I could completely understand what part of the book they were using for reasoning. GOOD JOB!
I agree with the statement.I think Katniss is very brave because she went to the feast just to get the package. She also volenteered for tribute instead of her sister. One other time she's been brave is when dumped the hornet's nest on the strong tributes sleeping under her tree. Also, she is very resouceful because she tried to savor the food she got in the backpack and she would hunt for food and retrieve her arrows. She was also resourceful when she found the creek and just stayed by it. Katniss is very quick-witted, especially when she shoty an arrow through the judges pig. Also, when she screamed Peeta's name, which probaly wasn't the best thing to do, but that showas how quick-witted she is. She was also quick witted to stay quiet when the tributes came under her tree on the first night.
I really liked Michelle the Sniper's comment because it really showed us how she was all those things and not just saying,"Katniss is kind because she does kind stuff.". Good job!
I agree with the statment because she seems rather intelligent and is rather brave. She uses her resoursfulness when she set up the touricat (is that correct) on Petta's (bread boy) leg. Also, she is quick-witted because she found that the berries were nightlock just before Petta ate them, "Even the name sounds deadly". one more thing that could be added is the she can be VERY irational. she demonstrated this when Rue (flower and water mixture) was killed by district 1. She shot the dude in the neck!!! She was sometimes couragous and sometimes not. She was couragous when she didn't run off when Petta had blood poisoning (ewww), but she wasn;t when she cried over Rue's death. Additionaly, she is kind. I found this when she volenteered for Prim.
I liked Michelle the sniper's post because he/she (sorry) stated the reasons for why he/she thought what he/she thought
I definitely agree that Katniss is brave,intelligent,quick-witted, resourceful, kind, and considerate here are some examles of times that katniss proved herself in these areas. Katniss is very resourceful. Katniss proved this to us while she was both hunting using the herbs and in the arena using every thing that she could find for a use. Katniss also is very kind and considerate you could see that in the book when she was caring for Peeta's leg in the cave. Katniss has also proved that she is brave one example of her showing how brave she really is was when she ran into the corncopia to get the medicine for Peeta. Katniss is intelligent as well one example of this is when Katniss made an alliance with Rue this was very smart because they both were doing well in the games and together they would do great. Katniss showed us all how quick-whitted she is when she saw the tracker jacker nest she knew immediatly that she could drop it on the carears. I think Katniss Everdeen is all of these things and that is why.
I LOVE Alstar's comment. I LOVED it because she gave tremendious description on how resourceful Katniss is.
I agree that Katniss is brave, considerate, kind and intelligent...Although see is sometimes not very kind and considerate, like when see sliced peeta's hands on the vase. When she was hunting or in the games she was very resorceful and intelligent. Katniss is intelligent in many ways but when she noticed that the nightlock berrys that peeta picked was the thing that killed foxface stuck in my mind. katniss is also very quick-witted in the way that if something when wrong she know's just how to fix it without makeing a plan before. monkey tongue\Matai I like how you explain every word and using many quotes from the book, but I don't see how screaming out to Peeta after the announcement is a example of being very quick-witted. Maybe because she thought of Peeta right as she heard it.
I definitely agree with the statement! Katniss is brave because she volunteers to take her sister's place in the preposterous Hunger Games. She is also brave because in the book it says "I want to run away, disappear into the woods like I did that day they brought the burned the victim to our house," when she is treating Peeta's wound." Katniss is very intelligent, she knows lots of different foods to eat and to not eat. Also, instead of giving away her location with a fire, she used the dead tribute's coal from her dead fire. She is resourceful because she can hunt, find food, and her mom is a healer, so she know some things about healing. An example that she is quick-witted is that when the Gamemakers shot fireballs at her, thanks to her fast reflexes, lost a few inches of hair and two burns. Katniss has been very helpful to many people, like putting food on her family's table. Katniss is definitely brave, intelligent, resourceful, and quick-witted. The Hunger Games was amazing!
Michelle The Sniper-
Your comment was really good. It was clear why Katniss was all of those things and you gave several examples of each! Great job overall!
Alsar- You described Katniss very well, you put amazing details!
I agree with all that has been stated about Katniss, but I think that she is mostly considerate, quick-witted, and resourceful. I think that she is considerate because when Rue warned her about the tracker jacker nest, she decided to repay the favor and she made an aliance with her. Also, when Prim was called at the Reaping, she stepped up and volunteered, even if it ment risking her life. She is quick witted because whenever she hears anything she unnatural she knows exactly what to do. Katniss is resourceful because she always knows what and when to eat, and if she doesn't know what to do, she improvises. I also believe that she is brave because at the feast when she was getting the medicine for Peeta, Clove was about to kill her and Katniss just spit in her face. She is intelligent because when Rue told her that the Careers weren't hungry since they had all the supplies, She said,
"No, they're not. That's the problem." and she decided to do something about it.
OOPS! I put an extra "she" in the sentence about Katniss being quick witted.
I think that Michelle The Sniper's comment was very exemplary because he really gave good details about his thoughts. He also described Katniss extremely well.
I agree with the fact that Katniss is brave, kind, intelligent, and all the other catagories. She is brave because for one, she sacraficed herself for her sister. She also helped Peeta while risking her life again. She lastly dropped the wasp nest out of that tree, that would be scary. She is intelligentfor many reasons to. One would be her ability to identify plants. I could never trust myself to do that. She also thought to tie that thing around Peetas leg so that he would live. Probly the most intellegent thing in the whole book is her timing though. This goes for Haymitch to but the inly way she lived was by timing. She is also very kind. Again she risked herself for her little sister. She also took the time to flower Rues "grave". One reason i do NOT think she is kind is because she diliberatly states she is using Peeta. I think overall he is most of these traits.
I think Alatars comment was exemplatary because she explained how Katniss used her senses to help her do things.
Katniss is resourceful to keep hunting and keeping her family alive even after her father died. She is also brave and courageous because she took her sister's place in the games. Katniss is also intelligent and quick-witted because she thinks of ways to ally and outsmart the other tributes. Finnaly, she is considerate and kind to help Peeta and save his life. All in all, I agree with the statement above.
I agree with James Blonde 007 and odd guinea pig that Katniss is brave to sacrifice herself for her sister at the reaping.
I think that Katniss is very resourceful, she can hunt, collect herbs, heal simple wounds, and keep a family of three fed. Katniss is also very brave-she went into the woods for food when she could be shot for it and she went into the Hunger Games for her sister. That goes along with her being intelligent-she was being intelligent when she found those herbs that worked miracles (almost). I do not think that Katniss is very kind; only to her sister Prim. At the end, Katniss is also kind to Peeta, healing him back to health, forgiving him, giving him compliments and excuses (such as when she said that he was only loud because of his leg). One time that Katniss was not nice was when she told Peeta that he shouldn't pretend when they weren't in front of a public audience. One time that Katniss was intelligent was when she blew up The Careers' food supply. Overall, I agree with the statement, Katniss is brave, considerate, kind, intelligent, quick-witted, courageous, and very resourceful.
Responding to Candy Corn-
I agree with you that she was brave when she dropped the tracker jacker nest on the Careers. When you said "When Katniss accepted Rue in her alliance you knew she was kind." I agreed with you a lot. This proved that Katniss wasn't entirely without sympathy and kindness, though forming an alliance with Rue benefited Katniss too. Your point with which you defend your statement with is interesting, I didn't think about it that way. Anyway, I think that all of your points are interesting.
I totally agree! The book takes us through all of the listed characteristics in all sorts of different situations. For instance, Katniss is very kind when she finds Peeta buried in the muck. "'The final defense of the dying' 'You're not going to die!'" Another instance when Katniss is courageous: She found the Crackerjacker nest and threw it down on the careers. "Blisters burst on my right hand as I awkwardly drag the knife back and forth." Furthermore, Katniss was intelligent when she went to get the medicine for Peeta from the Cornucopia.
I think Monkey Tongue's comment was good, he really gave good details and plenty of them too! He remembered a lot from the story making his post interesting.
I agree with all of these things. Katniss is very brave because she volunteered to go to her death in the hunger games, (or so she thought) to save prim. She is very intelligent because she grew up in the woods and a mother who's a doctor so she learned how to hunt and heal. I think she is very very resourceful because she can literally live off nature. Not many people can say that! Most of all I think she's skilled. It's not up there as one of the things but I think she is very very very very VERY skilled to be able to shoot anything, moving, still, live, dead, ANYTHING right through the eye. I also think it's funny how her dad had told her, "If you can find yourself, you'll never go hungry." when he was teaching her about katniss roots. My dad read the book and said he loved how it wasn't predictable. He said he totally thought Rue was going to live. He did not think she was going to die.
I agree with Owl Eyes that Katniss was brave to risk her life to get Peeta's medicine. Also didn't we have to use at least one quote from the book?
I agree with what was stated in the prompt that Katniss is brave, considerate, kind, intelligent, quick-witted, courageous, and very resourceful.
Quick-witted and intelligent: In the book when Claudius Templesmith announced, “Closer examination of the rule book has disclosed that only one winner may be allowed.” Instantly Katniss found poisonous berries and told Peetah to eat one on the count of three. When Katniss did this it was smart and quick-witted.
Courageous: Katniss was courageous when she decided to blow up the Careers boxes of food. This was courageous because it was dangerous and there was a high possibility she could die.
Kind and considerate: Katniss was kind and considerate in many ways but one is when Rue died and Katniss sang to her then covered her in flowers. Also she was kind and considerate when she decided to team up with Peetah so they could win together.
I agree with Monkey Tongue because it was very resourceful of Katniss to stay by the river for a source of water.
i liked Exclamation Mark's comment because all the details where very true and she chose great quotes.
Sorry the anonymous was me, Skating Animal Lover!
I agree that Katniss is brave, considerate, kind, intelligent, quick wiited, courageous, and very resourceful. I think she is all those things because she finds Peeta, revives him, and gets him out of the arena. Another example is when she understands what Haymitch is getting at when he sends in the silver parachutes. Three examples of when Katniss is brave are when she takes her sister's place on reaping day, when she blows the career's supplies up, and finally, when she goes to the feast to help Peeta survive. Also, I think anyone to survive the Hunger Games with another tribute would have to be extremely intelligent and resoursful because "That has never been done." in the book. I also agree because if you really pay attention to what Katniss does throughout the book you notice inside she is very kind hearted and very good natured. The highlight of part III for me was how Katniss thought she was just playing being in love with Peeta but she actually falls in love with him. If I had to go into the Hunger Games I would probably hope Katniss was picked as well because she is brave, considerate, kind, intelligent, quick-witted, couragous, and very resourceful.
I agree with Alstar that Katniss is resourceful in many different ways and can use all of her senses extremely well.
I like how Skating Animal Lover put
courageous:...
kind and considerate:...
Who's Beach Girl??????????
Is Beach Girl Lauren???
Yes, I agree that Katniss is brave, considerate, Kind, intelligent, quick-witted, courageous, and extremely resourceful. Katniss is brave and considerate when she volunteers to take Prim's place. I think that, that would be a very hard thing to do when you know you're in for definite danger. Katniss is also all of these things during the Games. For instance, she is able to use many of her surroundings for food or shelter;therefore she is being resourceful. When Katniss decides to get the antidote for Peeta she is being courageous, considerate, brave, and quick witted.Throughout the whole book Katniss is intelligent. She always seems to be thinking of a strategy for something. Katniss demonstrates great resourcefulness when she needed food, and when she needed water she was intelligent when she thought about why Haymitch wasn't sending her water.
I would have qouted from the bok but I don't currently have the book with me right now.
I agree with the statement that Katniss is brave, considerate, kind, intelligent, quick-witted, courageous and resourceful. One example of Katniss' resourcefulness is how she hunts and gathers food for her family, and in the games. This also takes bravery. Katniss is very brave when she goes out against Peeta's wishes to get medicine for him. She was practically committing suicide. She is also quick-witted. Katniss shows this when she escapes many near death events such as when she blew up the careers food supplies.Katniss shows her kindness in this example of the book when she is talking to Rue. Quote "'you hungry?' i can see her swallow hard, her eyes flicker to the meat.'come on then, i've had two kills today.'"
alstar: loved how well you explained katniss's resourcefulness, good word choice.
I think Skating Animal Lover did a very good job with her examples. I thought that they demonstrated the traits that Amanda wrote & went with those traits.
TIGER NINJA now= BOUNCING NINJA

Here is my late response due to technical difficulties.
I 100% agree with the statement that Katniss is brave, considerate, kind, intelligent, quick-witted, courageous, and very resourceful. I think Katniss is brave because she quickly took her sisters place in the Hunger Games knowing it was a death sentence. She also showed braveness when even though Peetah said no she went to the dinner to fetch the medicine for him, knowing it was a death trap. I also think she is considerate because although she hated her make-up crew she never complained and was nice to them although she wanted to hit them in rage. Also, when she couldn't find Prim a present, she went to the goat man and got her a goat knowing full well how bad it was hurt. Gale even said "She's hurt pretty bad, you better take a closer look" but she knew that was what she had to get for Prim and she had to save that goat. Katniss is kind because although because she never lashed out and always kept her cool for the sake of others. She is intelligent because she always knew what Haymitch message was based on what he sent. She is also intelligent in the way she knows almost every berry or plant and whether or not it is edible and what it's uses are. Katniss is quick-witted because when others freak out on split decisions she always has a quick fix, smart or not it always does it's purpose. Like when Katniss without thinking volunteered herself in the Hunger Games just to save her sister and then realizing the consequence. She is courageous because she never baked down from a fight knowing full well what the consequences were. She was resourceful because she managed to keep a family alive for years off of only her hunting, trading, and gathering.
Owl Eyes:
Nice idea with where she got her healing skills from! I never would have thought of that. I like your word choice and description of her helping Peetah.
I think that Katniss IS brave, considerate, kind, intelligent, quick-witted, courageous, and resourceful. When she calls out Peeta's name, she proves she is considerate, kind, and courageous. She is brave when she decides to eat the berries and kill herself. Finally, she is intelligent and quick-witted when she kills Foxface.
